I am looking for a source of local treatment free bees. I currently have bees that are not locally sourced, and I am acclimatizing them. I would like to get a hold of some local stock. I have five sworn traps up and so far no luck. I would like to purchase local nucs. Let me know if anyone has any available, now or next spring.

Hey there Boomer,

Looks like the closest to you is in Bloomfield, MO, found here; http://parkerfarms.biz/map.html
Have you posted on the Facebook page asking for bees?
What's good for the beekeeper, isn't always what's best for the bees.

Thanks for the info. No I have not posted on the Facebook page, but that sounds like a good idea.

Hi there. I'm in West Kentucky. I am going to be building my local stock with TF bees so in the furture we may be able to help each other. If I find any other local sources I will let you in on it. How is the flow out there?

I found a couple of treatment free nucs in Elkton Kentucky. Headed there tomorrow to pick them up. The flow at least around my house is mostly Clover, but there is plenty of it

Is there any chance they have more nucs?

Don't worry about the flow. Smooth sumac is about to bloom all over Kentucky.

Sorry he does not have any left at this time. He may be up to selling some next spring, but he never sells many. The way I found him was posting on beesource in the in search of category. You might try that for yourself.

Complete bust last winter, One hive almost made it through but just couldn't get it done.

I have started over with four nucs. After one week, one of them is kicking serious but, another is doing very well. The other two started out weaker but seem to be coming along fine.

Glad to hear it. Did you buy from Wolf Creek again or did you buy from someone else?

I got four nucs from a guy in Western Kentucky who sells a few nucs every year. He also sold another guy two nucs, so I think he is tapped out.

That's cool! I'm in the W. KY. area so I might know who it is if you tell me his name. If not I would like to reach out to him. It's always good to know a few TF locals. You got a name and contact info for him?
