Cut out in fall? Northwest of San Antonio about 50 miles
My daughter just found a hive of bees I believe obsconded(so?) last fall. They have made a home in an old collapsed shed on back of the property. I need to clean up the property but am worried doing a cut out in fall might hurt the bees chances of wintering well. I know our winters are fairly mild but I don't want to risk the survival of a good "feral" hive. I live NW of San Antonio, tx. If these are the same bees that obsconded they are beeweaver. If not who knows what they are. I do believe they are the same bees who keep trying to rob a weakening hive. Any suggestions? All beekeeping is local.
