Well, winter is over, oh, that was Tuesday, it's back today... I checked on my hives Tuesday, I think it was in the upper sixties. Everyone was flying well, my beat hive, a 3rd winter caught swarm is carrying a greenish pollen like crazy. Without tearing the hives down I'm assuming they are brooding up already. I don't want to miss my first opportunity to start my splitting. I also don't want to kill everything by splitting to soon. Anyone have any suggestions or advice? I also have a nuc, 5 over 5, I want to get that into a hive too. I use all mediums, small cell, 8 frames.
