First Swarm

You have just gotten your bees, either in the mail or you have gone and picked them up in person. Now what do you do? Covers from installation in your hive until the end of the first winter and the first blooms of spring.

Make sure they don't over heat. Place the swarm box where you want the hive and open the entrance near dusk. the bees on the outside will find their way in. Hopefully you have frames in for them to start building comb? Start reading up on swarms.

nice size swarm!
good thing you had screen on them. as chuck said they can overheat. you can see them all layered on the inside of the screen. they go bonkers trying to get out and create a lot of heat.
TF since 2010, successfully since 2013. Trying to increase without totally giving up honey crop.
